Casting a bowl from start to finish

Updated: Oct 18, 2020

A hand made, bisque fired mould is prepared with mould release. The kiln is set up with a crucible above the mould for the glass to pour into. Glass flows into the mould at 830 degrees celcius. Once the glass has finished flowing the piece cooled slowly and allowed to anneal. The piece is then removed from the mould, hand worked and slumped into a shallow bowl form.
